He detonates

Title: He Detonates

Character/Pairing: Domeki/Watanuki

“Hey.” He starts, because sometimes, really, that’s all it takes.
Today, though, is not one of those days. Today he’s going to have to work for it a little and he smirks. It’s part of the fun, after all.
“Why, hello to you too, Domeki. Now, that’s a real nice name; Domeki.”
He knows the emphasis Watanuki puts on his name is not meant to warm him up the way it does. It is meant to be vicious and sarcastic, but the annoyed voice that daily barks at him is full of heat, just like those steaming home-cooked meals, and if he is very good at keeping his face and body language cool, he has no control over the emotions that sometimes sweep his heart up.
Domeki, faithful to himself, decides to remain silent as they begin their short journey towards school. Sometimes, he doesn’t need to do any more than that. Sometimes he lets Watanuki get worked up on his own, it can be very amusing too. The other boy cries out and gesticulates on and on about his part-time job and his stupid boss and the elaborate bento he had to prepare and when he turns towards Domeki, the blank look and bored expression he receives are enough to start the countdown.
It looks as if today is not going to be that much of a challenge after all, Domeki thinks as another smirk reaches his lips.
“Stupid Domeki!…” Oh, how he beautifully detonates.
The rest of Watanuki’s diatribe is lost to Domeki’s ears. There it is, his exquisite explosion. He awaits them and basks in them every day, these chaotic outbursts. His cold and rational being only feels alive in the midst of Watanuki’s explosively hot temper. Such irony that the one human being who can validate Domeki’s existence is a boy so intricately entwined with the dead.
