Wedding Crasher

generaljanuaryMy cousin was supposed to get married on the 16th. Earlier when I got home, my dad told me the wedding was off. I thought for sure they had couple troubles and went: "Yikes, and they have a kid, too." . Turns out they didn't get in a fight, but he got in an accident.

I'm not particularly close to him, or to my cousin, for that matter, but I just remember reading this news and seeing it on tv yesterday and not caring at all. It's sad how you can be so detached in the face of tragedy when you feel it's unrelated to you. (I'm not going to pretend I'm a monster for not feeling devastated everytime I hear of someone dying on the news, and no one is going to make me feel bad about it. May those who have never sinned...blah blah.)
I guess you just have to look at the disasters of the world with a certain amount of level-headedness, or else it would just be too goddamned hard.
